Welcome

**Below is a short story I had to write in 75 words or less for a creative writing class. **

Darkness overtakes me. My eyes shut but something inside says, “trust it”. There’s a door, broken down yet strong. Golden. Inside lies a man who - like the door - is worn down yet majestic. I’m led to a sign that reads: “Welcome Home”. Beside it, a younger me awaits, saying, “Don’t be afraid.” The stranger beside me now has diamonds in his eyes and I swear I can see every lost piece of me.
